Because I am JUST. THAT. COOL.

There's a little race coming up in our (general) neighborhood soon.

Something to do with an Mdot. And talk of iron, or half thereof.

And I'm going to be there. Booyah.

Got word today that I'm going to be a volunteer in body marking that morning and a finish line catcher from 10 until noon.

NO FREAKING JOKE!!

I've never been more excited about volunteering in my life!

Plus, I hear they let you have a really, REALLY big sharpie.

Love it.

So...butt crack of dawn on June 8th, I'm so there. If you're racing, come find me in the pit and I'll gladly mark you up and sooth your nerves with my rendition of "You are my sunshine."

Who could ask for more?

As it's a real M-dot event will you be getting calligraphy lessons so that you can do a better job than the usual race scrawl?

Thanks for the positive thoughts... every little bit helps.
No doubt your rendition of "you are my sunshine" will make the day of many an athlete on June 8th. One tip though... hours of body marking can be akin to hours of squats... so make the athlete lift their leg up to you instead of squatting down to them. Last year I could barely walk the day after I volunteered, worse than my race day pains by far!!
Have fun :)

What fun! I want very much to go to IMLouisville and volunteer (although not as a bike handler - I am so NOT touching anyone's peed upon bike, no siree bob.) Have a great time!

That will be a blast!!

I volunteered as a swim angel last year for a women's only tri, and it was the best day!

Very exciting! And those are massive sharpies!

Commenting on your past couple of posts... very grown up and responsible decisions you are making. Will all be worth it down the line.

Hey that tip about the shower scrunchie was great! It is the best things I've ever used - fits perfectly, doesn't bounce out at all, and after I'm done, has it's own string to hang to dry!

I haven't been reading blogs lately. Sorry to hear you've had to scale back, but I totally understand. Your hubby to be is a very lucky man to have such a special wife to be.

I need to know what the hair scrunchie tip was from someone's comment above.

Also, I am volunteering at IMWI this year. I'll be doing body marking, water station, and handing out medals at the finish line. I'm so pumped about it.

Take care,
Melissa
